Failure Analysis Engineer
Due to exciting growth, our client who's a well established international company in Central NY is looking for a Failure Analysis Engineer. This position will diagnose component failures for all customer returns as well as internal yield using both non-destructive and destructive analysis to identify the root cause of failure.
Responsibilities:
Analyze product failures to root cause and provide corrective actions
Develop, define and improve failure analysis methods, techniques and processes to ensure the effective operation of the failure analysis laboratory
Work with Engineering in providing detailed analysis to support process development, process improvement, and yield improvement activities
Prepare timely and accurate Failure Analysis Reports (FARs) which incorporate images and the analysis steps taken, and correctly identifies the root cause and appropriate corrective action
Requirements:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or related

years FA Engineering experience of semiconductor components.
Knowledge of material analysis techniques such as TEM, EDS, SEM, and SIMS
Experience with electrical and optical fault isolation techniques and data collection methods
A solid understanding of wafer fabrication and assembly techniques of semiconductors
Ability to perform electrical testing on all submitted components and assemblies to the extent a reported failure is verified or replicated
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
