Summary:
Under the leadership of the System Director of Infection Prevention (IP) and Employee Health (EH) and the Manager of IP and EH, the EH RN is accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the EH program, following all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations.
The EH RN provides consultative services (as a Subject Matter Expert).
They will drive and foster a culture of patient and staff safety, providing service excellence to all.

Responsibilities:
Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and advisory guidelines through application Effectively and efficiently manage daily operations of EH responsibilities Utilize and synthesize scientific evidence for decision making and intervention planning Provide education relevant to EH subject matter, including but not limited to New Employee Orientation Present EH data in an effective manner that is appropriate to the audience Collaborate with public health (county and state) effectively and appropriately Monitors work related illness in staff Provides timely and appropriate follow-up to all employee potential exposures to blood and body fluids (BBF) in accordance with OSHA regulations and CDC guidelines, as well as policies of CMC Participates in preventative screening programs Safely administers vaccines according to CDC, ACIP, TJC, CMS and NYSDOH guidelines/regulations and appropriately documents vaccines given Performs N-95 Fit Testing per OSHA regulations.
Ensures compliance with requirements for organizational Respiratory Protection Program, implements all components of program Performs communicable disease follow-up Identifies and refers employees with personal health needs to the SH providers or personal physician as appropriate.
Documents this action in the EH health record Acts as an advocate for the rights of employees by ensuring access to preventative and safety measures Provides cross coverage for Infection Prevention RN as assigned by Manager or Director Rotates on-call responsibilities with IP RN and IP/EH Manager Education and Development:
Completes all mandatory in-services within the calendar year Annually attends at least three relevant continuing education programs to maintain industry expertise in best practices.
Must be approved by Manager or Director in advance Attends Lean Six Sigma Training within first 3 years, attains Yellow Belt at minimum Successfully progresses through AOHN training program within first two years Requirements:
Current NYS R.
N.
license required.
