What you will do:
The IT Project Manager will provide project management for the design, development, production and support of Cornell Cooperative Extension Information Technology (CCE IT) projects.
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) connects communities with research from Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Human Ecology to enrich and empower New York state neighbors, local businesses, towns and cities.
The CCE IT portfolio includes programming, communications, and business operations by providing and maintaining communications & collaboration systems and technologies; providing a web presence; building system- wide capacity for distance learning and supporting distance learning for professional staff and constituents; developing and maintaining electronic processing and data storage systems for CCE campus, Regional Agriculture Teams, and Association administration; and providing training and technical support in the use of technologies in programming and operations.
Key Responsibilities Lead low to medium complex projects with a critical IT component; manage the planning, implementation, communication, tracking and reporting.
Work closely with business leadership and clients to define project scope and goals in order to successfully plan, prioritize, and coordinate ongoing activities.
Manage scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk and procurement for assigned projects, and prepare related project documentation.
Communicate project scope, goals and responsibilities to project team; establish clear stakeholder expectations, and requirements of varying degrees of complexity.
Provide direction and coaching of project team.
Facilitate interaction among team members and provide structure and support for open communications.
Assess and manage issues; prioritize and drive resolution of all issues associated with a project; Prepare impact analysis statements and manage the change request process.
Ensure projects are delivered on-time and within defined budget restrictions; modify timelines as needed and communicate with project governance and staff.
Develop and maintain reporting procedures and monitor performance in project control activities; prepare and distribute reports related to project activities, general project management, and financial issues.
Manage project scope including ensuring unique requirements of each project have been identified and needs are met.
Assist with analysis of business requirements and problem resolution as needed.
Employ and adapt project management methods and best practices to improve project results and to enhance local project management practices.
Advise and assist senior staff and/or other clients in the formulation of project budget, project financial management and support securing funding when necessary.
Advise on procedural issues that affect project planning and customer obligations for project definition through implementation, including schedules, stabilization and operational support.
Advise on information technology infrastructure enhancements and necessary equipment by analyzing current needs and anticipated future requirements.
Represent department at appropriate committees and groups and disseminate relevant information to the team.
Support the department's culture/climate by cultivating and facilitating effective relationships between assigned resources and clients.
What We Need:
Bachelor's Degree with more than three years and less than five years' experience or equivalent.
Solid understanding of project management knowledge, skills, tools, techniques and formal approaches.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, analytical, written and oral communication skills including facilitation, conflict management, budget/estimate development, change management, and negotiation.
Significant experience with Windows, and project management tools such as MS Project and/or Smartsheets.
Demonstrated consensus building and relationship management skills.
Strong analytical skills and experience in budgeting and estimating.
Ability to convey technical information to others of varying levels of technical knowledge and responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to remain focused working in fast-paced, deadline driven and demanding customer-oriented environment.
Proven track record of establishing credibility rapidly, effectively establishing critical relationships with clients, directors, managers and project team members.

Experience in an educational or other nonprofit environment preferred.
PMP Certification or demonstrated progress to obtain it highly desirable.
This is a full-time position, located in Ithaca, NY with a hybrid/variable schedule.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
