The Statler Hotel at Cornell University announces an opportunity for a Temporary Guest Service Agent to join our Front Office Team.
The Statler Hotel is Four-Diamond Award winning property in the center of the beautiful Ithaca campus.
The role of a Temporary Guest Service Agent:
As a member of the Statler Hotel's Front Office Team, you will create warm, genuine, and personalized experiences, while delivering a world-class level of service to our guests.
Among your duties, you will:
Register and check in guests, fulfill requests, and follow up to ensure complete satisfaction; Monitor room status, assist guests with directions and area information, and maintain detailed guest profiles.
Communicate accurately and clearly within the front office team and with other departments in the hotel; Assist others when help is needed, record and pass on pertinent information from your shift to the incoming staff.
Check guests out of the hotel with a level of service that meets or exceeds guest expectations, while verifying charges and accurately completing the payment process.
Required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Superior communication skills (verbal and written) and professional phone etiquette.
A warm and enthusiastic personality, always committed to giving your best effort and going above and beyond for others while maintaining a positive attitude.
Basic computer skills.
Valid driver's license.
Available to work variable shifts, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to stand for long periods of time and can lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Associate's degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of hotel management systems/revenue management/OTA's (online travel agencies).
Some accounting experience desired.
